Coronavirus Guidance

At Michael Offord Optometrist your health has always been our priority and excellent hygiene is essential for our everyday practice. At the moment, we are open as usual and carefully following all government guidelines. We have implemented a number of actions to help keep our staff and patients safe:
  • If you are aged 70 or over, have a long term health condition, are pregnant or have a weakened immune system, please follow the NHS guidance: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
  • Do not attend the practice if you have any flu-like symptoms, a persistent cough or high temperature. If you do experience these symptoms stay at home and use the NHS 111 online service for advice: https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19/. Do not attend your GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.
  • If you do feel unwell whilst visiting the practice, make one of our team aware and we will make suitable arrangements.
  • We are regularly sanitising touch points throughout the practice (surfaces, door handles, card machines etc.)
  • After a patient has been in our consulting rooms we sanitise all equipment and touch points
  • All of our staff are screened daily to ensure they are showing no symptoms and will be asked to self-isolate for 14 days if they or their family have symptoms
  • All of our staff are washing hands and hand sanitising regularly
  • We ask clients to use hand sanitiser when they attend
  • Eyewear is put to one side and sanitised after try-ons
If you are self-isolating and require products such as contact lenses, solutions or eye drops we will try our best to get these to you. We will continue to keep you updated regularly if the situation changes but encourage you to contact us if you have any queries. We are thinking of you all at this time and hoping you keep safe and healthy.
