Michael has now returned from two weeks in Ghana, working with Vision Aid Overseas. He has been working with the charity for many years and makes an annual trip to provide Eye Examinations and train students.
This year proved just as busy as always. Much of his time was spent training students and clinical staff at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, in the South of Ghana.
Alongside the students, he provided Eye Examinations at outreach clinics, seeing around 400 patients. Here are a few of them waiting patiently to be seen:
‘As always, the experience of seeing so many patients was very humbling and rewarding. The trip was as interesting as ever, and a few new challenges were thrown our way. I am looking forward to next year’s trip already.’
