Vision Aid Overseas

Vision Aid Overseas is a charity close to the practice’s heart and, as many of you know, Michael travels overseas annually to work with them. The organisation has had an equally busy 2016 carrying out 51,236 eye tests and prescribing 20,200 pairs of glasses.

The charity works to establish Vision Centres overseas. They aim to make these clinics self sufficient, providing equipment and on-going training for local optometrists, nurses and technicians. In addition to their centres, VAO works in the community providing outreach centres for those in remote areas.

We always welcome old pairs of glasses which are recycled by the charity for use overseas so if you are having a spring clean think of us!
